Terms of Service

Last updated: October 6, 2026

Welcome to OWN Owensboro ("OWN", "we", "us"). These terms cover your use of ownowensboro.com and any accounts you create with us. By using the site or joining as a member, you agree to these terms.

What OWN is

OWN Owensboro is a free local discovery platform for Owensboro, Kentucky — businesses, events, sports, jobs, deals, and local answers. The public site is fully usable without an account. Membership is free and optional.

Your account

• You must provide a real name and a valid email address to join.
• You are responsible for keeping your password private.
• One account per person. Founding Member numbers (the first 1,000) are assigned in signup order and are permanent.
• You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deletion removes your profile and preferences.

Acceptable use

• Don't submit false business listings, fake events, or misleading information through "Add to OWN" or any other submission form.
• Don't attempt to access other members' accounts, scrape the site aggressively, or interfere with the service.
• Submissions are reviewed before going live. We may reject or remove anything that is inaccurate, spammy, or inappropriate.

Notifications

When you join, you can opt in to text alerts for new OWN Drops and to the OWN Your Weekend email newsletter. Both are optional and can be changed or turned off anytime in your account settings. Standard message and data rates may apply to texts.

Content and accuracy

We work hard to keep local information accurate and verified, but we can't guarantee every detail (hours, prices, event times) is always current. If you spot something wrong, tell us and we'll fix it.

Limitation of liability

OWN is provided "as is." We're not liable for decisions you make based on site content, for third-party business practices, or for interruptions to the service.

Changes

We may update these terms as OWN grows. We'll note the "last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the new terms.
